The marine salt industry is entirely sustainable and makes very little impact on the environment. The result is pure, white crystals - ideal as a de-icing salt for your path or driveway. The natural production process of de-icing salt

De-icing salt -
all natural Ezi-Melt

Ezi-Melt is a white de-icing salt of very high purity, being 99% sodium chloride. The other 1% is a clean, anti-caking agent which prevents the salt crystals from clumping together, making them easy to shake onto your driveway.

Ezi-Melt originates from the purest sustainable source - the sea.

The great thing about marine salt production is that, unlike with rock salt, there is no mining involved and therefore none of the negative environmental impact. In fact wildlife often thrives around the meditteranean salt farms where Ezi-Melt is sourced from, including brine shrimp, one of the staple diets of the pink flamingo.

Production of Ezi-Melt de-icing salt is relatively simple: sea water is placed in salt lakes, where natural evaporation of the water can occur.

After this evaporation stage, the salt is then moved to special bays where it stays for up to five years to allow it to crystallise. Small amounts of water are added periodically to increase the concentration of the salt.

The salt is then washed to remove any impurities, before the natural anti-caking agent is added to prevent clumping of the white crystals.

Ezi-Melt is then packed into 1kg, 2kg and 6.5kg recyclable plastic jars at our plant in the Welsh mountains.

Ezi-Melt de-icing salt's purity and lack of additives means that it doesn't leave any harmful or unsightly residues behind, and there has been no adverse effect as a result of the product entering waterways following a thaw.
